As AI increasingly shaped public debate, Google wanted to take part in Almedalen by offering a more human perspective on technology. Our task was to help move the conversation beyond fear and speculation - and inspire curiosity around how AI can help solve real challenges for people, society, and the planet.
We created a spatial concept built around the gradient derived from Google’s brand colours. Within this framework, visual and structural metaphors such as “the box” and folded forms were introduced to spark curiosity and invite exploration. To make technology feel more tangible, and to tap into the human love of play that sits at the core of Google’s DNA, we blended physical and digital interactions throughout the space. By inviting people to interact, explore, and discover new perspectives on AI, the space became a catalyst for insightful conversations - leading to positive action and new collaborations.
What we did
Event concept – To frame Google’s AI event spaces and enable new conversations around AI and technology, we developed a concept rooted in curiosity and exploration. The concept was designed to scale across different formats, countries, and target audiences.
Spatial experience – The concept was brought to life across a range of event spaces, from small installations to large-scale environments. It included modular units such as backdrops, podiums, interactive elements, seating areas, digital screens, charging stations, stages, and more.
Digital interactions – We created concepts and designs for both physical and digital interactive units used across Google events in Northern Europe. The units showcased Google features and products, including Gemini, and the work covered everything from digital interaction design to structural drawings.
Playbook – The concept, spatial experiences, and interactive elements were packaged into an inspirational yet instructional Google event playbook, enabling consistent rollout and adaptation across markets in Northern Europe.
